U:SA is pleased to welcome two new members of our Board: Corey Lewis of WGCU in Fort Myers, Florida, and Carl A’See of WSSB in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Corey Lewis

Corey Lewis joined WGCU as general manager in May of 2021 – after 18 years with another university licensee, WBUR in Boston.
WGCU has embarked on a five-year plan to grow the NPR and PBS portfolio of programs with a new emphasis on locally originated content. The expansion has started with the local radio newsroom, investigative reporting, and in-depth reporting on the website and through podcasts. Their TV services are expanding through local news and a documentary unit. WGCU’s latest expansion involves starting a local TV newscast, first as a weekly with recently secured funding, and a nightly following shortly.
Before spending two decades in public media, Corey spent the first 18 years of his career in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Hartford, and Providence, working in commercial television for Universal, Paramount, and Tribune.
Carl A’See

Carl A’see is the General Manager of Statement Media (WSSB, WOBS, and WPJK) at South Carolina State University. He also heads the training program at WSSB for students interested in radio broadcasting. Carl has broadcast experience in public and commercial radio, higher education and the non-profit sector.
He serves on the Board of Directors for the National Federation of Community Broadcasters.
